London, a riot of colour and innovation

London, a riot of colour and innovation

SEPTEMBER 2018 | 2 minutes

Art. Technology. Design. These are concepts which are emerging with ever more strength to push their way into working environments and collective spaces across the world. They are also the defining features of the spaces with which Actiu took part in the fairs 100%Design and Designjunction in London. Two different concepts for different audiences, but in which innovation, visual impact and creativity allowed hundreds of visitors to look at products in a new light.

The firm’s stand at 100%Design was dominated by the visual effect created by its Badminton chairs. The installation was based on urban art, using a virtual reality device to reveal an unusual play on shape and colour in a proposal for office furniture.

Together with the Badminton chairs, the stand offered a showcase for the firm’s other products designed to provide people with functional and ergonomic solutions

It featured Talent, the height-adjustable, movable and foldable tables by Alegre Design;

an artistic installation of Whass silhouettes, the new super-stackable chair designed by ITEMdesignworks;

and the most informal corner decorated with Bend and Longo, by Stone Design and Ramos&Bassols, respectively.

In addition, there was a preview presentation of Karbon, the firm’s new ultra-light, cutting-edge product.

Because although visitors were able to see and touch this product at the 100%Design fair, the international launch of this multi-purpose chair manufactured in carbon fibre was at Designjunction, a parallel event also held in London, with a focus on cutting-edge, highly innovative pieces.

The launch of Karbon designed by ITEMdesignworks received an overwhelmingly enthusiastic welcome, thanks to both its design, its material and its light weight. This chair not only positions Actiu as an industrial firm capable of manufacturing furniture in carbon fibre, it also opens up a new line of research and innovation, with the possibility of incorporating new production processes and materials with a future-facing perspective and values.

The attention garnered by this launch, as well as the 100%Design creative proposal, have allowed Actiu to show its unwavering commitment to the British market by means of its stand-out designs.

All these concepts will be expanded at the firm’s next international event – Orgatec, from 23 to 27 October in Germany. At this international trade fair, the firm will also be presenting its new products focused around its most important value – PER50NS
